Saving Energy News

posted by enigin in Business Advice

There is so much news out there, much of it about energy saving. Before becoming involved with Enigin Plc I did not realise the need, demand and interest in energy saving and efficiency.

Since being involved myself in energy saving and Enigin Plc I have come to understand that energy saving is literally a news now daily business. It is something that generates news on a daily and hourly basis. There is constantly new articles being written and released about all aspects of saving energy.

Who Should You Sell To - Big or Small(er)?

posted by enigin in Business Advice

At Enigin it is certainly preferable for new Enigin Distributors to target Small to Medium Enterprises, where they speak directly to a decision maker - it provides a rapid way to start and establish a business.

Often Enigin Distributors want to help Coca-Cola save energy, or HSBC or some other multi-national organisation. Dollar signs flash up in their eyes and they think it will be easy - it never is.

Not that large corporations shouldn’t be targeted, but if you are starting out in business you need to get the money flowing, so go to those that provide quick decisions and also need less of an operation to get up and running. But how about those medium size companies?

Once your established, taking longer and having a “big” deal run in the back ground is probably a worthwhile goal - and as this post on Bnet.com states, it maybe be the better option for an established business:

You’re an experienced sales professional selling a product in an industry that you know quite well.  Your manager gives you a choice between two hot leads.  One lead is for a large, internationally- known enterprise; the other is for a medium-sized, regional business.  The potential deal size and up-sell potential are the same in both cases.

Which one should you target?

Lazy And Green… Compatible?

Lazy And Green… Compatible?

I’ve been trying to be environmentally friendly for years. But like most human beings, I have my lazy moments, and also happen to be forgetful at times. So, even with good intentions, for people like me, it’s not always easy to be green all the time.

Enigin and New Media

posted by enigin in General

An article today in the Guardian highlights how new media is becoming important alongside the long term media such as TV, radio and press. The article discusses changes to take place with regard to advertising.

For a long time now businesses as well as the general public can go online and put advertising here there and everywhere, for anyone to see. Is this right?

Debate for Yourselves

posted by enigin in Outside the Office

By Madeleine Whittaker

Often at Enigin we will debate in our lunch time anything from our favourite food through to major world events, such as the Climate Change Conference in Cancun - COP16.

People enjoy a good debate don’t they. A good rant about something your passionate about can be very invigorating and enlivening. The word debate has many meanings and when mentioned to someone can create different reactions and feelings.

News Comes and Goes

posted by enigin in General, Outside the Office

Well that headline seems to have long passed - everyone got over the excitement of the Royal Wedding fairly quickly! I suppose it will all hype up again when it gets closer though. There are much more urgent things to think about now though as this season comes into full swing.

With the weather here in the UK, which we definately do not want to linger over in discussing, winter has come quick and hard, and we aren’t at all used to it. But, as I said, we do not want to linger on that tiresome subject which has been the main headlines of the country for over a week. Bored now!

Bells are ringing, Royally

posted by enigin in Outside the Office

Well the Royal Wedding of the century is currently headline news and well under way of being arranged, in case you didn’t already now. With the bells of Westminster Abbey ringing loud in the streets of London the young couple are already planning and arranging their billion pound party.

It is amazing what does get into the headlines today really. And it is changing on a daily basis. With the media hyping up this royal engagement and making a large deal about it, it makes me ask why is it such a big deal?

Are you self sacrificing?

posted by enigin in General

Not a phrase used often today, self sacrifice. It isn’t a trait many people would think of among kind, moody, happy and perhaps friendly. Though it is an important one to consider and ask yourself, are YOU self sacrificing?

The definition is:

the Sacrifice of one’s personal interests or well-being for the sake of others or for a cause.

Finding the information you need

Do you make the most of the World Wide Web? I think many of us don’t fully realise or appreciate the benefits of using the internet to its potential.

In my life time the internet has been created, expanded and become a part of every day life for millions and millions of people. It has become a necessity for the majority and many would not know what to do without it.

Do you ever stop and wonder what it was really like before we had the internet and the array of information it provides? Obviously things worked out just fine but really stop and think about the change the internet has had on society, the world and the way we do things.
