Enigin - Cuts, Cuts and more Cuts

June 28th, 2010 posted by enigin

Thats all we are hearing in the UK today. Cuts to government spending, cuts to businesses, cuts to public sector, cuts to benefits and now we have even had to face being cut out of the World Cup.

I grew up viewing the UK as a prosperous and a developed country. Really? it is quite difficult to view the UK like that now. We are constantly hearing how much is owed, how much everything costs the general public. And what I find hardest to accept is all of these cuts happening, and yet what cuts are being made actually within the government, with the cost of No 10 Downing Street, how much they are able to claim back, how much they are paid?

I realise it is such a difficult subject, and so hard to really understand and make judgement on. We don’t really know the full story do we. Same as we don’t really know how much some of these MPs earn, and claim and spend!

Something I have always found very strange also is the cuts on so many things and yet I have not heard the word “roadworks” or “road development” once. Here in the South West of England, where Enigin Plc is based, we are constantly seeing roads being re done, junctions being moved around and changed, for seriously, what seems like no point whatsoever. Except, that they have such a large amount to spend on road development, if they don’t spend it they lose that money, and so they spend it, on anything!

It is all very strange, and hard to really get your head around. I don’t think anyone could ever truly have an answer to such issues as government, and money and how it should or shouldn’t be spent. But I am very intrigued to see what will happen in the next 10-50 years, how things will change. It is impossible to see how things can get better, in all sorts of ways.
