A week for politics - Enigin
What a week for politics, in the UK anyway! The general election for a new UK government.
Though really it’s been more like a month. So much work leading upto something that usually gets decided in one day, though as we know not on this occasion.
Personally I do not have much interest in the politics whatsoever. So the endless news stories, debates, “breaking news” was of no interest to me and truly started to get annoying.
So on Friday morning, having little interest, I had forgotten the news would be informing us of the new government. I was quite interested and surprised to turn the news on (when I did remember), and find it was a hung parliament.
I had no idea what this meant! But they went on to explain the last one in 1974 and what happened and it did make it a little, tiny bit more interesting.
But then today…..Prime Minister Gordan Brown resigns. Well we were quite surprised to see that. So the next step??
No one seems to know. The other day I started imagining what would happen if they just couldn’t decide and so they all gave up and the Queen tookover and was in charge. Now that would become quite interesting! A bit random I know, but don’t you think that would be a bit of a change.
