Saving Energy News

posted by enigin in Business Advice

There is so much news out there, much of it about energy saving. Before becoming involved with Enigin Plc I did not realise the need, demand and interest in energy saving and efficiency.

Since being involved myself in energy saving and Enigin Plc I have come to understand that energy saving is literally a news now daily business. It is something that generates news on a daily and hourly basis. There is constantly new articles being written and released about all aspects of saving energy.

Spend money in a better way

Spending money is part of life really. We all need to do it, no matter how hard we try to be careful, we can’t get away with spending no money at all. But we can work hard to be careful how we spend our money.

How we save our money too is an important thing. As we see in the news daily countries are having to make changes and cut backs, it is no different for businesses and individuals.

Enigin save budgets, jobs and profits

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

After watching the news I try not think about the financial constraints so many countries face, particularly in their public sector organisations, such as hospitals, universities, schools, local authority and national government administrations..

Here in the UK it is frustrating to hear about cuts, cuts and more cuts, by the same token it is a hard measure that needs to be taken after years of wanton spending by so many of us, after many people throughout the world have enjoyed quite a few years of boom and easy money.

Yes belt tightening is not always pleasant but we have to face up to hard truths and that often means austerity measures, but does it have to be so painful? Job losses, financial penalties on pensions or redundancy payments - they hurt the ordinary person - but could something else be done?

In the UK proposed plan to put £55 billion into school buildings has been scrapped, as being the wrong time to spend this sort of money. Yet it appears strange that a national government won’t be putting money into something that makes a massive impact on the countries future, but money has got to stop hemorrhaging out of the countries coffers.

But there are other things that could be done that could reduce the impact of such cuts and certainly protect jobs, pensions and budgets - what? Efficiencies, and particularly energy efficiencies.

Enigin - Cuts, Cuts and more Cuts

Thats all we are hearing in the UK today. Cuts to government spending, cuts to businesses, cuts to public sector, cuts to benefits and now we have even had to face being cut out of the World Cup.

I grew up viewing the UK as a prosperous and a developed country. Really? it is quite difficult to view the UK like that now. We are constantly hearing how much is owed, how much everything costs the general public. And what I find hardest to accept is all of these cuts happening, and yet what cuts are being made actually within the government, with the cost of No 10 Downing Street, how much they are able to claim back, how much they are paid?

Enigin - Coalition is the New Word

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

Well we have been hearing it daily here at Enigin, the new political word, Coalition. All the talk is about the new Coalition government in the UK.

I keep hearing about the new things the government want to put in place. The new ideas and ways they will run the country. But when will all these things happen?

Probably one of the biggest idea is the change in the benefit system, the plan to uproot the whole system. I think, from what I hear, they plan to change the conditions, change the way people are entitled to things. But again, when will these changes actually start to take place?

With many things in the “benefit system” they are all a year or two behind. People who receive tax credits for having children, for example, receive them based on wages they earned 2 maybe even 3 years prior. How that is fair, and works, I do not know! In this case, people are receiving a certain amount in credits for so long, which helps them to break even maybe, only just. Then suddenly their benefits are cut, a lot, because they took on work 2 years ago. How this is fair I cannot answer.

I hope this sort of thing is something this “new” government in the UK will change. It needs to happen and it needs to happen now. But we will see!!

A week for politics - Enigin

What a week for politics, in the UK anyway! The general election for a new UK government.

Though really it’s been more like a month. So much work leading upto something that usually gets decided in one day, though as we know not on this occasion.

Personally I do not have much interest in the politics whatsoever. So the endless news stories, debates, “breaking news” was of no interest to me and truly started to get annoying.

Enigin - Peppa Pig no longer for Labour

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

Well seriously what is the world coming to! With a carry on from my last post regarding media in the world today, I have today read that, shock horror, Peppa Pig has been removed from appearing at a Labour Event!

Seriously! Even children’s TV and TV characters are being used for political reasons. It is truly bad enough that every single time I turn on the news all they are talking about is the election, who is doing what and when. I just can’t get away from it! And then to see that they are even using a very popular children’s character to “impress” families.

GRanted the makes of Peppa Pig have decided not to go thropugh with the event - why?. To avoid any controversy. The plan had been for them to attend a children’s centre to highlight Labour’s policies to support families.

I have a much better suggestion! How about they help us families out instead, help all families out including those that are hard working and good parents!

It is so much better then before - Enigin

In my last post I left you to decide if the new media world is the best for us. Well I have been thinking and my feelings is that it definately has to be.

How can it truly be a debate. We know what is going on around the world, constantly if we wanted to.

I lost my mobile phone two weeks ago - and have literally been lost and alone without it. Problems of contacting people when meeting up with them, letting people know your ok, asking people of they are ok - has been impossible. Ok so many would say it is not impossible, do it the old fashioned way - if I am allowed to call it that. Just pick up the phone! Well all my contacts were on my mobile - maybe a bit stupid - but too late now.

And the news? I was away last week, staying in a caravan, with only 5 channels on the television. No Sky news, no BBC news, so now 24 hour news. It was annoying. I came home and felt a bit out of the loop. Not having been able to just quickly stick one of those channels on in the morning and check what had happened in the world while I had been sleeping, was bizarre and strange.

Ok so there probably is a debate issue here. But definitely on the surface, the majority of the time - media and technology today makes life a lot easier.

Enigin - Media today keeps us up-to-date

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

The media really do get everywhere today. With mobile phones, laptops, internet on the go there is nothing they miss.

Again today we heard on the radio another soldier died. My mum wondered out loud what it must have been like in the 1st and 2nd World War. The only way you would find out up to date information about what was going on across the waters during the almighty battle was in the local newspaper. Which was probably always a few days behind what was happening.

But today? We here right there and then, immediately.

The blast in Moscow this morning. Immediately there are images on the news of the situation straight afterwards. Not hours later, or days later but within minutes we can see what has happened, feel like we are there, and know all that follows.

So is this new and fast, and up-to-date media for the best? I will leave you to decide that.

Advertising - Enigin and New Media

posted by enigin in Uncategorized

An article today in the Guardian highlights how new media is becoming important alongside the long term media such as TV, radio and press. The article discusses changes to take place with regard to advertising.

For a long time now businesses as well as the general public can go online and put advertising here there and everywhere, for anyone to see. Is this right?

The article tells us that new rules will come into play where businesses advertising online will have to meet same regulations as older media, TV, Radio etc. Well, I say, about time.

We have the watershed for the TV. Films are rated down to their content and that includes the advertising. Adverts on TV and radio are monitored and checked by the Advertising Standards Agency. But who has been monitoring online advertising?

It is about time that new media, online media is recognised as being the most up to date, and viewed type of media you can get. Anyone can see it, anywhere. That includes children of course. So I think this is a great thing for the protection of the public and most in importantly children. But it is also making that point of how important new and social media is becoming to the business world.
